3650 S. Camino Real SR-7 Interchange
Location: 3650 South, Washington County, extending from Camino Real to SR-7
Concept: This project is a new capacity highway construction, which includes the development of an interchange. The project aims to improve transportation infrastructure and flow in Washington County, with a focus on roadway, structures, landscaping, signing, and lighting components.
Key Components-
Roadway Construction: The project involves significant roadway work, including excavation, embankment for bridges, and the use of granular borrow and untreated base course. Paving will utilize HMA 1/2 inch and SMA-1/2 inch. The project also includes the installation of concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter, and various types of fences and guardrails.
Drainage and Utility Work: Extensive drainage improvements are planned, with the installation of various sizes of smooth, leak-resistant drainage pipes and numerous manholes, catch basins, and drainage structures. This also involves the removal of existing drainage infrastructure.
Structures: The project includes the construction of a new structure, F-951, which will feature drilled shafts and significant quantities of reinforcing steel coated and structural concrete. This component will also involve prestressed concrete members and thin bonded polymer overlay.
Landscaping: To address the project's environmental impact and enhance the area, the plan includes Hydroseeding for Erosion Control (HECP) types 2 and 3, broadcast seeding, and rock mulch. Topsoil will be stripped, stockpiled, and spread.
Signing and Lighting: The project will incorporate new signage, including various types of signs (Type A-1, A-2) and posts. A new highway lighting system will be installed, along with an ATMS (Advanced Traffic Management System) featuring a fiber optic communication system.
